Microsoft Office Excel 2007 is the newest version of Microsoft's popular spreadsheet program. This four-level course explores nearly all of Excel's many features. Whether you're using Excel for the first time, or have been using it for years, this course will help you make the most of Excel 2007's new features and interface.

Highlights of the course include complete coverage of the new interface, use of Excel functions, PivotTables, and publishing to PDF.

Detailed Course Outline

Getting Started To begin, participants will learn the basics of Excel: how to open and close it, how to use the interface, how to create a basic spreadsheet and workbook, how to save and open workbooks, and how to get help.

The New Interface Next, participants will closely examine the new interface, including the Quick Access Toolbar and each of the default tabs.

Excel Basics In this section, participants will learn more about creating spreadsheets, including how to work with cells, columns, rows, and ranges; adding worksheet labels; basic Excel features and functions; moving data; using Smart Tags; using option buttons; and using Excel's review tools (including spell check, AutoCorrect, and Find and Replace).

Editing Your Workbook Participants will learn how to change the way their data appears, including using conditional formatting, the Format Painter, and styles. Participants will also receive an introduction to creating and editing charts.

Next, we will look at using Excel data in Word, Access, and Outlook, and at saving Excel data in common formats (including PDF) to be read by non-Office applications.

Advanced Topics Participants will learn how to use Excel Options to change their user name, default font, default file format, and screen theme. Participants will also learn how to use Office diagnostic tools and the Excel viewer.

Getting the Most from your Data This section will explore some of Excel's data analysis tools, including the outlining feature, subtotals, PivotTables, scenarios, and what-if analysis.

Excel and the Internet This section will look at some tools used to link Excel data to the Internet, including hyperlinks, Web queries, and Excel services. Participants will also learn how to save their workbooks as web pages.

Advanced Excel Tasks Participants will learn how to create and use shared workbooks; use custom AutoFill lists; use VLOOKUP; and how to link, consolidate, and combine workbooks.
